THERAPIST 1 & Therapist 2 - (Sexual Wellness, Health & Trauma)

Job Title: Therapist 1 & Therapist 2 - Sexual Wellness, Health & Sexual Trauma Clinician

Position Overview:

The Therapist 1 & Therapist 2 - Sexual Wellness, Health & Sexual Trauma Clinician will provide direct therapeutic services aimed at supporting and empowering individuals dealing with sexual wellness, sexual trauma, and sexual addictions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate cultural awareness, humility, sensitivity, and a strong commitment to the philosophy of the practice. This role requires an individual who is skilled in offering sex-positive therapy, providing education on sexual health, and working with clients from diverse sexual identities, including kink and alternative sexual lifestyles and relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual, couples, group and family therapy for clients focused on sexual wellness, healing from sexual trauma, addressing sexual addictions, and exploring diverse sexual identities.

  • Offer sex-positive, trauma-informed care, focusing on issues such as sexual dysfunction, intimacy challenges, sexual trauma recovery, and the exploration of kink and alternative sexual lifestyles.

  • Educate clients on sexual health, boundaries, consent, and healthy sexual expression while promoting body positivity and inclusivity.

  • Maintain a caseload of 20 to 25 clients minimum weekly, ensuring consistent care and support.

  • Contribute to the growth of the practice by marketing yourself and assisting in building a sustainable client caseload.

  • Participate in NEW's internship program, offering mentorship and case support to at least one intern.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to volunteers and less experienced staff as needed.

  • Collaborate with other clinicians to ensure comprehensive and effective client care.

  • Adhere to the practice’s philosophy, demonstrating cultural competence and a commitment to empowering clients in their sexual identity and wellness journey.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Demonstrates cultural awareness, humility, and sensitivity when working with clients from diverse sexual orientations, identities, and lifestyles.

  • Holds a master’s degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, or a related field.

  • Therapist 1: Actively working towards full licensure in Tennessee.

  • Therapist 2: Holds a Tennessee license in social work, marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, or a related field.

  • Experienced in providing therapy focused on sexual wellness, sexual trauma, sexual addictions, and diverse sexual identities.

  • Knowledgeable about kink, alternative sexual lifestyles, and sex-positive approaches.

  • Self-motivated and responsible for maintaining and growing a client caseload.

  • Willingness to mentor interns and provide leadership to volunteers and less experienced staff.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a master’s degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, or a related field.

  • Therapist 1: Actively working towards full licensure in the state of Tennessee.

  • Therapist 2: Holds a Tennessee license in social work, marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in therapy or counseling focused on sexual wellness, sexual trauma, and sexual addictions.

  • Availability to maintain a caseload of 20 to 25 clients weekly.

  • Strong commitment to mentorship and leadership roles within the practice.
