Welcome to NEW at Salama!
We believe everyone grows best in community…
We believe everyone deserves a place where they can feel safe enough to reconnect, grow and heal. We believe children do best when the people and communities surrounding them are supported too. The Salama Urban Ministries - NEW Counseling partnership was born from these beliefs. Our partnership brings these beliefs together by making mental health support part of the community where children and families are already learning, growing and building relationships.
HOW CAN WE HELP?
We are more than just therapy…
Whether you're here because you're concerned about your child, something has changed at home, you're carrying something yourself, or you simply think talking to someone might help, you are welcome here. At NEW, we understand that mental wellness doesn't happen only in the therapy room. Our partnership with Salama allows us to support the community in multiple ways including:
Individual Counseling, Family Counseling, Therapy Groups, Psychiatric Care, Parent + Caregiver Support, Workshops + Wellness Programming, Team Support + Professional Development.
CHILDREN + TEENS
We help young people work through things like:
Anxiety and worry • Sadness and depression • Big emotions • Anger and frustration • Grief and loss • Trauma • Self-esteem and confidence • Identity • Friendships and relationships • School stress • Family changes • Life transitions • Behavioral concerns
PARENTS + CAREGIVERS
We help parents and caregivers better understand what their child may be experiencing, strengthen communication and connection, navigate challenging behaviors and transitions, and find practical ways to support emotional wellness at home.
NEW clinicians are also available to work with parents and caregivers on their own mental health, relationships, stress, trauma, life transitions and wellness.
FAMILIES
Family counseling provides space to slow things down, understand what's happening beneath the surface, strengthen relationships, improve communication and find healthier ways of moving forward together.
SALAMA + B.E. ACADEMY TEAM
NEW provides confidential mental health support for members of the Salama and B.E. Academy community who may be navigating stress, burnout, relationships, grief, anxiety, depression, trauma, major life changes—or simply the weight of balancing work and life.
